Growing up, Ava did not live a conventional life because she worked alongside her mother, Gloria, saving birds. Some of her sweetest memories were of capturing injured birds of prey and raising nestlings with her mom. They seemed to share one heart because of their love for the feathered creatures on the planet.
After graduating from high school Ava moved to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah, but she maintained a close relationship with her mother. At the end of her first year of college, just as she was finding her independence and character as a young woman, Ava went for a morning run during a weekend visit in Park City and encountered two tweens drowning baby birds. She did not plan to kill the boys, but one thing led to another ...
Due to weather conditions in Park City and interference from wild animals, all clues of Ava’s crime were destroyed before authorities could piece together who did it. When Ava realized she got away with murder, she became a vigilante seeking more victims and justice for the birds she had been taught to revere. However, as bodies start to pile up, the authorities and her mother begin to suspect Ava is behind the deaths. Ultimately, she will have to choose between her mother and her revenge quest. Unbeknownst to Ava, Gloria has her own plan to shut down her daughter’s activities.

In her lifelong quest to save injured birds, Ava kills two tweens, and when she gets away with murder, becomes a vigilante until the police and her mother catch up.
Review
As gory as it is gratifying, All for the Birds is a twisty mix of monumental maternal love and violent vigilantism. You’ll be horrified by the final twist, all the while knowing it couldn’t end any other way.
